Lagos State University 17th Convocation Ceremonies Notice To Graduands
Lagos State University (LASU) releases her 17th convocation ceremonies programme of event (For 18th Convocation Click Here). The Vice Chancellor, Professor John Oladapo Obafunwa, wishes to notify the University Community, Graduands and the general public that the programme of events for the 17th Convocation Ceremonies of the University has been approved to hold as follows below:
NB: All graduands are required to immediately commence and complete the process of their clearance in their respective College/Schools/Faculties before the ceremony, in order to facilitate the collection of their degree certificates on the day of Convocation. Free Invitation Cards For Graduands
Each graduand is entitled to two (2) invitation cards. The invitation cards and complete set of academic outfit, made up of Gown, Hood and Cap are available for collection on presentation of Receipt/Teller for payment at the Faculty/College as appropriate. Convocation Brochure, Magazine and Academic outfit are to be collected at the various College/Schools/Faculties of the graduands.

Wednesday, June 6, 2012: Convocation Press Conference. Venue: University Senate Chamber Time: 10.00 a.m.
Friday, June 8, 2012: Jumat Service.
Venue: University Mosque. Time: 1.00 p.m.
Sunday, June 10, 2012:Church Service.
Venue:University Chapel (Chapel of Light)
Monday, June 11, 2012:Coconut Breaking Festival. Venue: Badagry Entrance Gate. Time: 9.30 a.m. Command Performance: by the Department of Theatre Arts and Music: THE KING MUST DANCE NAKED– by Fred Agbeyegbe and directed by Tunji Azeez Ph.D. Department of Theatre Arts & Music, Lagos State University.

i) Inspection of some on-going projects in the University by His Excellency, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN – 9.00 a.m.
ii) Graduands Procession – 9.45 a.m.
iii) Academic Procession – 10.00 a.m.
iv) Award of Higher Degrees.

Directive For Payment And Refund
All graduands are required to pay a sum of Six thousand five hundred Naira (N6,500.00) only as Convocation Fee to the designated banks listed below:
LIST OF BANKS
A Refundable fee of two thousand Naira (N2, 000.00) only will be made available to graduands on the return of Academic Gown.
Invitation Cards, Notice and Convocation package, will thereafter be issued on the presentation of the receipt of payment.
Postgraduate graduand who is interested in purchasing the University Academic Gown is required to pay a total sum of thirty thousand (N30,000.00) naira only into any of the above account numbers.
Academic attire collected, should be returned immediately, after each ceremony OR at the latest Monday, June 18, 2012, after which the refundable fee of two thousand (N2,000) naira only will be returned to the graduand at the Bursary on presentation of clearance obtained at the Faculties, for the return of academic attire.
Any graduand, who holds on to the academic attire beyond Monday, June 18, 2012, will be liable to a fine of Five hundred naira (N500.00) only, for each day of default.
Also, any graduand who loses OR damages the academic attire would pay Fifteen thousand (N15, 000.00) naira only as replacement fee.
Parents of graduands and invited guest are advised to be seated NOT later than 9.35 a. m. on each day.
