Moshood Abiola University of Lagos; A New Name For University Of Lagos
Today May 29th 2012 is Nigeria democracy day, a public holiday through the nation. Our president has concluded his speech for the democracy day, but one thing stand out from the long speeches he made this morning, which to me the make me to lose interest in all other things he said thereafter. It is the issues of renaming University of Lagos, Akoka to Moshood Abiola University, Akoka.
We have been clamouring for Moshood Abiola recognition as the father of democracy in Nigerian for a long time now, but now that the Federal Government wants to look in that direction, they took the right step in wrong direction.
How On Earth Will Federal Government Woke Up On Democracy Day And Started The Demonstration Of Craziness Themselves?
The people are not happy, the students are not happy and Lagosian are not happy too!
If Goodluck Ebebe Jonathan and his cabinet want to honour Moshood Abiola, let them change the democracy day from May 29th to June 12th. By so doing, I will now believe that they are just beginning to wake or perhaps the issue of Boko Haram is affecting them to that extent that they get confused?
I think someone one should called them to order, so that they can wake up from slumber, and if Federal Government is so much desired to have a University name after Moshood Abiola in Lagos, let them build one there.
This is just my personal opinion, what did you think about this? Is it the right step in the right direction OR the wrong step in right direction? You opinion will be highly appreciated as you make use of the comment box below. Don’t forget to like our facebook page. Thank you for the like.
