How to Handle being Jilted in a Relationship

If asked this question, I know for a fact that so many people will say that they have been jilted in a relationship at one point or the other.

When jilted in a relationship, not too many people know how to handle the situation and as such it is necessary to know what to do if this happens to you.

If you have recently being jilted in a relationship and you do not know how to get out of it, the tips in this article should be useful to you.

Reflect:

Yes, it is good to reflect on what happened to you.

Reflection opens your eyes and mind to so many things you may have missed in that relationship.

It is good to ponder on possible causes so you can learn one or two lessons from your experience.

Don’t beat up yourself about it:

Being jilted in a relationship is not a wonderful experience but the deed has already been done so what do you want to do about it?

Do you want to kill yourself just because someone left you or would you rather throw yourself at that person with the hope of being accepted back into the relationship?

I know it is painful but try to get a grip of yourself. Things of this sort happen a lot and you are not the first person to be going through this.

So, try to live your life the best way you can while letting go gradually.

Know that things happen for a reason:

Sometimes when certain things happen in our lives, we do not know why they happen. It may just be for your own good that this happened because of some unforeseen future occurrence.

So if you have been jilted in a relationship, see it as being saved from something dreadful and it is probably later in the future, you’ll come to realise the good that has been done to you.

Cry your heart out:

If a wrong has been done to you like being jilted in a relationship, from my own perspective I do not think you would feel better unless you cry about it.

This is because crying makes one feel better and also helps you release those bottled up feelings.

So cry if you want to and pour out those hidden emotions. You’ll be glad you did.

Feel positive about yourself:

The period this happens to you, it’s best you do all you can to feel good about yourself. This is because most times when people are jilted in a relationship, they end up blaming themselves for what happened.

You need to do away with negative thoughts and surround yourself with positive things that make you happy.

If you can feel positive then nothing should be able to drag you down.

Confide in someone:

Sometimes when you are going through something, it feels like you are on your own which is not a good way to feel.

In order not to feel this way in this difficult time, try talking to someone about what you are going through. This helps a lot as you might just get some cool advice from that person.

Ensure the person you confide in is someone you can trust and not someone who will broadcast to other people in order to make you feel bad.

Confiding in someone does help a lot because the truth is that you cannot solve your problems alone. Anyone who thinks he has the solution to his or her problem is deceiving him or herself.

Do not isolate yourself but tell someone about it.

Have you ever been jilted in a relationship before? How did you feel? What did you do to handle the situation?

We would like to know as we believe a lot of people will learn a lot by your suggestions.
